JEREMY DOCEKAL, MD, FACC
Board Certified Cardiologist - Hilo
Dr. Jeremy Docekal is a board-certified cardiologist currently practicing in Hawai‘i and affiliated with Hilo Medical Center. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College. Early in his career, he worked at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, where he trained active-duty Navy sailors in the operation of shipboard nuclear propulsion systems.
Driven by a desire to pursue medicine, Dr. Docekal earned his medical degree with honors from Albany Medical College. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu and went on to complete his cardiology fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Docekal enjoys spending time with his energetic 7-year-old daughter, practicing Judo at the Shobukan Judo Club, and chasing fish on the weekends—though with questionable success. If you happen to see him with a black eye, don’t worry—it’s just Judo, and he assures you the other guy looks better.
