Coronary Intervention

Interventional Cardiologists are Doctors that perform a number of sophisticated minimally invasive procedures to improve heart conditions and manage symptoms.

The most common interventional cardiology procedure is cardiac catheterization. In this procedure, the interventional cardiologist inserts a slender tube or sheath into the wrist or groin artery, that helps provide support to guide a flexible tube or catheter to the heart and perform diagnostic examinations of the heart arteries, open narrowed or blocked arteries with a balloon and/or insertion of metal sleeves called stents.
